About the film:

Brilliant is the true story of Barry Weatherall, a plumber who was completely blinded when a chemical mixture exploded in his face. Now, after years of darkness and depression he discovers new delight in life through outdoor adventure. With cheeky British humour he challenges the “sightlings” around him as he pushes the limits of his world with joy, curiosity and courage.

Last year we documented Barry’s adventures in a short film that captivated hearts as far away as Australia. Watch this 5-minute award-winning documentary (above).

This year we’re making a full-length film about Barry’s life. You can participate by following our progress as we film the rest of his story. Feel free to ask questions or offer suggestions as we do our best to help Barry inspire others the way he’s inspired us.
